Listed below are some of the activities which you can try during your stay:
Surfing
Tamarindo is famous for its surfing and a great place to learn to surfing. We cater for all abilities from the learner to the hard core surfing looking to get world class surfing waves.
Turtle Tour
This area is one of the few places where the giant Leatherback turtles come to land to lay their eggs. From October to February it is possible to observe this event in the national park with a guide late in the evening.
Estuary Boat Tour
Tamarindo is on the edge of a Estuary which stretch´s several km inland. This tour allows you to take a boat into the estuary where you will see marine and bird life and perhaps a few howler monkeys.
Catamaran Sunset Tour
There is no better way to appreciate and enjoy Costa Rica from the ocean. Watch the wildlife, swim or just relax. This tour comes with buffet lunch, full bar service and then return to Tamarindo to watch one of its impressive sunsets from the boat.
Canopy Tour
In the Tamarindo area there are several Canopy Tours which consist of zip lines running through the canopy and between the trees. These tours can be exhilarating whilst giving you the chance to see wildlife.
Horseback Riding
Guanacaste has some stuff scenery and a great way to experience the natural beauty is riding a horse. The are several different routes available depending on which location you choose.
Rincon de la Vieja
This is a full day trip usually guided by Bryan, this trip includes transportation to the Rincon de la Vieja where you will go rafting, horseback riding and then spend time at the mud baths and hot springs.
Snorkeling
Several of the beaches close to Tranquilo Village offer great snorkeling which can be done from the beach. There are several tours offering snorkeling or it can be done as part of the sunset cruise.
Diving
There are several dive shops in the area which offer diving. Many of the tours visit the Catalina Islands which usually offer good visability and the opportunity to see a wide range of see life including rays, dolphins and many tropical fish.
Fishing
Costa Rica has been a sport fishing destination for many years and there are several boats offering charters. Common catches include Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna, Roosterfish and Snapper.
ATV Tours
Due to its rugged landscape Costa Rica and ATV is a great way to see the region. ATV´s can be hired by the hour or there are several guided tours which will take you on roads and trails.

Dining / Nightlife
Seafood is available in most restaurants and a local specialty is the ceviche which is normally Mahi Mahi fish cooked in lime juice with chili's and onion and is eaten as an boca or appetizer. There is plenty of nightlife in the region with many bars and restaurants offering live music, more often than not you will find a bar offering "ladies night" where the ladies will get at least a free drink. In Tamarindo there are several night clubs which are open to the early hours of the morning. There is small Casino in Tamarindo as well as larger Casinos in resorts at both Langosta and Playa Conchal.
During the high season many of the towns and villages hold "fiestas" which are part of the Guanacaste culture and usually last 3 - 4 days at each place. The fiestas usually consist of a rodeo where you can see the local cowboys try their skills and then later in the evening the partying and dancing starts. The fiestas are a great way to see the real Costa Rica at almost all of the fiestas there are stalls selling food such as tamales, corn tortillas and BBQ meat on a stick which is classic fiesta food.
